Believers all over Limnos, rush in Kotsinas to get a blessing from the holy water that gushes under the chapel of Zoodochos Pigi. Built in the guts of a fortress from the 13th century, a unique castle in Greece that is erected on an artificial hill, the small church was built in the '50s over the position of an older one, through sponsorships of expatriates from America and Australia and has been recently renovated.

The only parts still existing from the original sanctuary are a fragment of a Byzantine pilaster and the Holy Fountain, whose name was used for the consecration of the church, Zoodohou Pigis. Countless, according to tradition, but actually sixty four built-in steps lead pilgrims from the exonarthex of the church to a square space with a bell-shaped roof. The fresh water spring is covered by a well mouth, and the water is at sea level.

Lamproparaskevi, namely Friday after Easter, a great feast takes place in Kotsinas with livestock market and Lemnians from every corner of the island descend to the holy water of Zoodohos Pigi.
